How I work

Each therapeutic journey unfolds uniquely.

What I bring to the process depends on your individual needs. I begin by working to understand who you are, what’s brought you to me, where you want to get to, and what’s getting in the way.

That could be anxiety, depression, trauma, fertility struggles, or the challenges of menopause. Perhaps you’re navigating an important life transition such as separation, burnout, parenting or relationship difficulties. Maybe you’re unsure of your direction and purpose in life, or interested in spiritual exploration.

In all cases, therapy starts with a deep dive into your mental wellbeing and life history, before moving into a treatment plan which includes tangible tools.

I work holistically and draw on a range of evidence-based talk therapies, in particular:

1

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Which supports moving towards your values with purpose and confidence to create an authentic, meaningful life.

2

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy

Which involves understanding how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours influence one another, and how you can use this knowledge to function more effectively and enjoy life more fully.

3

Schema therapy

Which helps you understand and alter unhelpful patterns of relating from your early life.

4

Somatic psychology

Which encourages greater awareness of the body and supports healing through reshaping the central nervous system.

Whatever combination of approaches I use in my work with you, I’ll bring plenty of curiosity, compassion, and clinical expertise to help you grow into the person you most want to be.

Connecting
you with me

1

Share what’s on your mind

You’ll be asked a few simple questions to help me understand what’s bringing you here.

2

Thoughtful response

I’ll personally review your message and respond with an initial sense of whether I’m the right fit.

3

Begin with confidence

If it feels right, we’ll arrange a time to connect and begin the work of change – together.

“Your skills and expertise as a psychologist are by far the best I have ever come across (and I have met a few in my time!). Your ability to explain and provide reason and a way forward for something that seems so unreasonable at the time made all the difference in my ability to cope and get through the more challenging moments. So thank you very much.”

  • Absolutely. While I specialise in women’s health, I also support clients of all genders through a wide range of challenges and life transitions.
